Stephen Hawking, head of Poetry

Hel-lo again readers. You find me today outside Oxford Uni-vers-ity, these hallowed grounds where Ruth Padel was recently suspended for a smear campaign against colleague Derek Wallcott. I have de-cided to take up the offer of the post as become the new head of po-e-try. Please pull up a beanbag, loosen that polo-neck and kick-k-k-k-k off those sandals, and listen to my latest comp-o-sition. Brrrppppp wzzzzzz.

Ode to Excellence.

Enlighten your audience, you must not bore ‘em

I bring you these highlights, some stuff from the forums:

As to choose who to vote for becomes more and more critical

The folks down at Beex got rather political

And as views were flung, public opinion got hefty

It seems even the caveman’s a liberal lefty

The thought of expenses through the forums was spreading

And we wondered should you pay to attend a friend’s wedding?

If you decide to give money, how much do you spend?

Check if the person they’re marrying is their best friend.

Now let me recount, without any flaming

The posts that highlighted this last weeks gaming.

Taking a break from my wheelchair kung-fu

I treated myself to some new Wii home-brew

Looking for games which are small but still ace

MetalAngel says Dock’Em from the Live Marketplace

Also, socking a punch on a cartoon boxing sim will

Be seen a big guy who I think might be Dimrill.

Computer’s overexcited, so lets now take a peek,

At a few contenders for Post Of The Week.

Zardoz finds a woman, once an early 90s dish

To now more closely resemble, a strange thick-lipped fish

Sinster’s drunken posting at first glace seemed weird

Till we learned of the lion of which he was afeared

He also thought selling to Yanks was a breeze

‘Bigger, Better, Brighter – the new STDs’

My com-put-er is failing, time for final checks,

Then send off this poem to The Week in Be-Ex.

Prof. S Hawking, Aged 67

Thank-you for listening to this transmission. I’m off to start a smear campaign against Robosapien.
